I have experience in the child care and aged care end of these services and it has been a futile fight along the way. The community run child care centre was wonderful and fitted perfectly into the needs of the local families, but the Kennet era with amalgamation of Councils, put paid to it and the horror of it is how quickly all these things are dismantled and how many years it takes to build them.
