One aspect of the activities of people at Arena has been to establish a modern medium size printery at 35 Argyle Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne. The printery is a support to the publishing efforts of people at Arena by printing internal publications cheaply, as well as doing work for the whole spectrum of the community. But it also has other purposes.
One of the problems of contemporary economy and culture is the way in which social divisions emerge between strata of people whereby those who think and write are divided off from those who engage in concrete production. People at Arena have always regarded this division as lying at the core of key processes of social transformation. The printery is one way of confronting them, permitting thinkers to engage in direct production and drawing producers into broader discussion of cultural developments.
Arena Printing is able to handle requirements from the most simple work to complex art catalogues. It engages in processes of continuous improvement to lift the quality of its work, a quality that is guaranteed.
